The church has a nice and classical gothic architecture, bounded on all sides by residential and museum property of different ages, with an iron railing around and a surrounding footpath beyond. The churchyard has many dated gravestones, established tress and shrubs, with a very peaceful outlook given there is no road access, despite its very central location in Ashford. It's a place where you may find peace and tranquility and a lovely place to reflect on life and its meanings.
Regrettably secured mid morning on the first day of August, the grounds/churchyard were however accessible. Sadly locked due to its position in the middle of the town. The church tower is visible across Ashford, providing you aren't being obstructed by one of the town's many modern tower buildings, and at first glance can almost induce a cathedral-like look. The graveyard is small and surrounds the church, fenced but accessible. A small section of wall appears to be imminently undergoing renovation, with bricks piled high beside. If the interior were more easily accessible for tourists, this church would be a must-visit.
