Just had a hip replacement under Mr Richard Slack at the AshfordOne. The whole experience could not of been better from talking to Sarah to discuss payment, price dates through to the Physiotherapy with Rob after the op. The effort of the staff is amazing from being taken to the room and having everything explained by the porter to ensure we were comfortable to the catering staff knowing I liked strong tea - and lots of it ! the nurses and pharmacists and doctors were exceptional - so helpful, kind, thoughtful, patient - I am over the moon with my surgery. The wound has healed so quickly and cleanly and I really cannot thank the hospital and Mr Slack for helping be be PAIN FREE and getting my life back on track. Best money ever spent. Sadly I would of had to wait another year with the NHS so this was the best option. THANK YOU all.
Couldnt fault the surgery and post care for my tonsillectomy. Ive also found the endocrinology consultants to be very knowledgable. Some improvements could be made to the blood work nurses in terms of efficiencies and patient handling however.
My initial appointment was confirmed by them in haste, which led to a wasted trip, though the apologies were profuse and sincere. Reception hadn't been notified of the rescheduled appointment, so there was another mini drama upon my reporting to reception, for my new appointment. I was called 15 minutes late into said appointment, though it was remarkably quick and the medical attention and equipment were excellent; however, it doesn't bode well for private referrals when one is still awaiting the results a week later, despite the hospital advertising online and within their brochure that results are usually available within 48 hours. Upon phoning a week to the day later, said results were still outstanding and, I was informed, had been available the entire week, but had not been forwarded on to the respective practitioner. Though the member of staff spoken to was very friendly and helpful on the phone, it doesn't change the fact that one off the great draws of 'going private,' is supposed to be quick results. Well, I now feel that I would probably have done a lot better had I been referred through the NHS!
Had hip replacement surgery here in March. 5 star all the way. From the consultation to reception, to the ward staff to the kitchen staff. My recovery after 6 weeks had been much better than I expected thanks to hard work and the physio department. If I need an operation another time will want to come back here. Thank you all.
I had a 4 night stay in this fabulous hospital. The staff from the receptionists to meal ladies, physios and the fantastic ward staff were out of this world. Nothing was too much trouble and the care was way beyond anything I had ever experienced before. The surgeon was absolutely brilliant. Well worth every penny. I would not hesitate to recommend this hospital to anyone.
